The Lotus Elise 340R variant, of which there will only be 340 examples made, has finally made it into production!  It was launched at the Hippodrome theatre in London on 12th August 1999.  The production car may not look much different to the prototype shown first at the Birmingham motor show in 1998, but there are quite a number of changes, though none that affect the appearance of the car greatly.  I particularly like the new (single centre nut!) wheels, seats and rear spoiler designs.  The press release on the specs page contains full details of the changes.
