The backdrops to series 3

[The late, great Griff and the lovely Helen]Ever wondered what was on the backdrops to Mark's shows?  I've got the details of what was on the Series 3 backdrops here for you.  I'll try and add the others real soon.

This page is dedicated to Mark's warm-up man, Griff (left) who sadly died in a road accident and looked nothing like Anthea Turner naked.

Series 3
[The stage at The Banana Cabaret]So what's on those backdrops, then? Well, the one on the right is the TV projection screen (Showing the MTCP 1999 logo in the shot above), the text on the central one is as follows, which is superimposed on a plan of what looks suspiciously like the installation at RAF Menwith Hill.
The text on the centre panel

Director of Plans and Requirements

The house that Jack built?
[Centre panel]The circular section on the centre panel contains a plan of someone's house.  You'll know whose if you've watched the shows!
Invisible building?

[Left panel]The third backdrop has more plans which turn out to be the plans of the MI5 building that were available from the local council offices when they had to apply for planning permission on some work being done there.   The Circular area contains the plans of that flat in Dagenham where 14 directors of a certain well-known car manufacturer (fnord?) live (according to their registration details at Companies House).

Company directors must, by law, lodge their home address at Companies House, but it seems a few of them are a bit nervous about doing that and so either use bogus addresses or office addresses which is a bit illegal really.  I travel by train every day and it's quite handy carrying around a list of the South West Trains and Railtrack directors home phone numbers when things go a little pear-shaped.   Some of the directors are really friendly, but some get a little peeved with my opening line of "Hello, are you at home?  Well WE'RE NOT!".  Big hat's off to Chris on the train who speaks to their wives and says "It's Chris here at work.  We've got a really big problem, have you got his/her mobile number, please?"
