Removing red-eye from a picture of Duncan

So how did I do it?

In Photoshop CS, I started by using the magic wand and elliptical selection tools to select the pupil of one eye then using image/adjustments/Hue/Sayuration (CTRL-U) to reduce saturation and lightness until the pupils were virtually black. Then deselected (CTRL-D) and tidied up a couple of light patches that remained with a virtually black paintbrush.

After repeating this for the other eye the effect looked a bit harsh so I added a smidgen of Gaussian blur to each eye to soften it a bit.

That's it really and I think it saved a horrible picture.
